What’s better than a free TV? A big free TV. Wildly, Samsung is giving a free 65″ television to anyone who pre-orders one of the brand’s upcoming 2024 models. There are, of course, a few caveats—most crucially, that the promotion ends on April 11th. But there aren’t as many asterisks as you’d think for a free 65″ Samsung TV.
Here’s the deal: Samsung revealed a slew of flagship TVs this month across a variety of models, all of which are available for pre-order at Samsung’s website. If you buy one of Samsung’s newly announced flagship TVs, it’ll immediately send you a 65-inch UHD TV as well. Fascinatingly, though Samsung calls this a “pre-order” scenario, all the new televisions are shipping quickly—the latest delivery we saw would take two weeks to arrive in NYC, while most would arrive within the week.
Order any of those TVs, and Samsung will also hand you a whole 65″ television as well for zero extra dollars. The free TV has a retail price of $530, and is a mid-range set at best: it’s LED, but doesn’t have local dimming. Given you’ll have something fancier on the way, the 65-incher will be solid as a second TV in a bedroom, maybe, or as a real bathroom flex. Also included free in this whole buy-one-get-one offer: shipping, and a wall mount for the nicer 2024 television.
Speaking of, the qualifying 2024 TV lineup from Samsung is broad: prices range from $1,000 to $15,000 (more on that in a moment), and includes a revamped edition of the Samsung Frame TV, a model rightly beloved by GQ Recommends readers—and, frankly, anyone who laments how lame a TV looks against the rest of a well-decorated room. Instead of an ugly black rectangle on the wall, The Frame uses its motion-activated QLED screen to display works of art and photography in beautiful 4K (when you’re not binging shows). Also in the pre-order mix are Samsung’s latest OLED models, the S90 and S95, as well as a 98″ (yes, ninety-eight-inch) set in the brand’s QLED series. That TV is also available in smaller sizes, like 75″ and 85″, if you need something only mildly gargantuan.
