Oak Spring Garden Foundation – 2025 Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence
The fellowship will be awarded to an early-career artist working on projects that address plants, landscapes, or gardens. It includes a $10,000 grant and a two- to five-week stay at OSGF in Northern Virginia.

Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts and Agriculture – Artist Residency Programs
US-based creative practitioners exploring the multifaceted dimensions of Care and Stewardship (this year’s residency theme) can apply for two- to four-week self-directed, stipend-supported residencies in Sisters, Oregon.

Ucross – Spring 2025 Artist Residencies
Artists-in-residence enjoy uninterrupted time and space to focus on the creative process: private studios, meals by a professional chef, a $1,500 stipend, and the experience of the majestic High Plains on a 20,000-acre ranch in Wyoming. The application fee is $40.

Vermont Studio Center – 2025 Residencies
Nestled in the Green Mountains, VSC hosts an inclusive, global community of artists and writers. Enjoy private studios, shared lodging, meals, and an esteemed Visiting Artists & Writers Program. Residents receive full or partial fellowships. The application fee is $25.

ARTS Southeast – ON::View Artist Residency Program
This fully funded residency gives artists lodging and a high-visibility studio in historic Savannah, Georgia, to complete a new project, continue an in-progress endeavor, or conduct research. The fee to apply for a one- to three-month residency in August–October 2024 is $50.

Indigo Arts Alliance – Mentorship Residency Program
Open to New England residents, IAA provides 24/7 studio access and pairs up artists for a co-mentorship. This partnership fosters creative exchange for Black and Brown artists, enriching participants’ cultural and artistic perspectives. Applications are accepted on a rolling deadline.

The Nicholson Project – Artist Residency Program
Artists and creatives of all types can apply for this 10-week residency at a historic home in Washington, DC, which includes a $5,000 stipend among other benefits. There is a $15 application fee.

Virginia Center for the Creative ArtsWachtmeister Award
Established composers and sound artists can apply for this award, which includes a fully funded monthlong residency in the foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, a $1,000 honorarium, and more.

Women’s Studio Workshop – Parent Residency Grant
Artists with at least one child under the age of 18 may apply to this monthlong residency, including free onsite housing for up to four people, 24/7 studio access, and a $1,450 unrestricted stipend.

Open Calls for Art & Writing

City of West Hollywood – Art on the Outside
Artists are invited to submit proposals for temporary public artwork in West Hollywood funded through the Art on the Outside program. The median approved budget is $8,000; projects with significantly higher budgets are still eligible.

Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences, New Jersey – 35 Under 35
Artists aged 18–35 who are based in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, or New York can apply to this juried competition and exhibition with cash prizes. The juror is Ruba Katrib, Curator & Director of Curatorial Affairs at MoMA PS1. The application fee is $35 for three entries.

Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries at Northwest Florida State College – 32nd Annual Emerald Coast National Juried Art Exhibition
Guest juried by Sarah Knobel, the Best-in-Show winner will receive $1,000 and a solo show at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries, typically held during the next season’s Emerald Coast National Exhibition. The application fee is $30 for three entries.

Ploughshares – 2024 Emerging Writer’s Contest
Open to writers of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry who have yet to publish or self-publish a book, this open call awards publication, $2,000, and a one-year subscription for one winner in each of the three genres.

Grants & Awards

Jonathan and Barbara Silver Foundation – 2024 Grant for Writing on Sculpture
Committed to supporting the field of sculpture, in 2024 the Jonathan and Barbara Silver Foundation will award a $20,000 grant to a writer who demonstrates fresh thinking on the history, aesthetics, and/or purposes of sculpture.
Deadline: May 31, 2024 |

The Bennett Prize2024/2025 Award Cycle
For women figurative realist painters. The grand prize is $50,000 and a solo show, with an additional finalist receiving $10,000. A four-person jury will select 10 finalists to be featured in a group exhibition that will travel the US. The application fee is $40. Read more on Hyperallergic.

Andy Warhol Foundation – Arts Writers Grant
Ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 in three categories — articles, books, and short-form writing — these grants support emerging and established writers addressing both general and specialized art audiences.

The JGS Fellowship for Photography
Open to New York State residents, this fellowship offers five $8,000 cash grants to photographers working in traditional and experimental photography or any form in which photographic techniques are pivotal.

VIA Art Fund – Artistic Production Grants
Accepting letters of inquiry from artists, nonprofits, and institutions for $25,000–$100,000 to support commissions outside museum or gallery walls, within the public realm, or in non-traditional exhibition environments.
