The United States men’s national team announced on Tuesday night that it will play a friendly against Brazil before their Copa America campaign later this year.
The friendly will take place on June 12 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The game against the five-time World Cup winners will be the second in a set of pre-Copa America friendlies, with the U.S. facing Colombia on June 8 at FedExField in Landover, Maryland.
“Getting the opportunity to play against Brazil is special. When you talk about wanting to challenge ourselves against the best teams in the world, you can’t ask for much better than Brazil. With their extremely talented player pool and rich history of success on the world stage this will certainly be a great preparation game for Copa America,” USMNT head coach Gregg Berhalter said. “The fan support in Orlando has always been outstanding, and when you play against the five-time World Cup champions at Camping World Stadium it should be even more electric.”
Tickets for the match against Brazil will go on sale to the public Friday, March 1 at 10 a.m. ET.
The U.S. is set to host the Copa America from June 19 to July 14, joining as one of six guest nations for the prestigious South American tournament. It will be the second time in eight years that the U.S. has hosted some version of the event following 2016’s Copa America Centenario.
However, FedExField won’t be one of the 14 stadiums used in the competition. The last time the team played there was during a 2012 friendly match against Brazil, which drew a crowd of 67,000 supporters (the stadium’s capacity has since been reduced to 58,000).
Gregg Berhalter’s squad has been placed in Group C of the Copa America alongside Uruguay, Bolivia, and Panama. The top two teams from the group will progress to the quarterfinal stage.
