USMNT midfielder Weston McKennie dislocates shoulder in Juventus win

Weston McKennie suffered a dislocated left shoulder during Juventus’ win over Frosinone on Sunday.

The 25-year-old USMNT midfielder sustained the injury late on during his side’s 3-2 victory at the Allianz Stadium.

McKennie had provided two assists for striker Dusan Vlahovic before being substituted in the 87th minute, being replaced by Samuel Iling Junior.

“McKennie has a dislocated shoulder. We’ll see,” head coach Massimiliano Allegri said after the game.

It remains to be confirmed how much time — if any — McKennie, who has made 25 appearances for Juventus this season, providing five assists, could now miss.

A similar injury to the same shoulder in July 2022 saw him sidelined for two weeks.

The USMNT are next in action against Jamaica in the CONCACAF Nations League on March 21.

Adrien Rabiot, who started the game alongside McKennie in Juventus’ midfield, suffered a dislocated toe in his left foot. He was substituted in the 29th minute as a result.

Juventus, who are six points off league leaders Inter Milan, are next in action against Napoli next Sunday.
