Pratt PreCollege offers high school students the opportunity to earn college credit, hone their creative skills, and spend the summer with like-minded peers on Pratt Institute’s beautiful Brooklyn campus or from the comfort of their own homes.

PreCollege Online Program (June 3–July 3)
Online classes run synchronously two days a week from June 3 to July 3. Students ages 15–18 choose from classes including Architecture, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Painting and Drawing, and more. Each of the classes mentioned awards one elective college credit, accepted at most colleges and universities. Students can also take a non-credit portfolio development class to strengthen their portfolio in preparation for art and design-focused college applications.

PreCollege On-Campus Immersion Program (July 8–August 2)
The on-campus Summer 2024 PreCollege immersion program is held on Pratt’s Brooklyn campus. Students ages 16–18 choose two concentrations from almost 20 different classes modeled after Pratt Institute’s undergraduate curriculum. When not in class or the studio, PreCollege students explore what makes New York City one of the art and design capitals of the world. Students in this program earn four elective college credits, accepted at most colleges and universities.

Registration is open now for all Summer 2024 PreCollege programs

All PreCollege classes are taught by Pratt faculty who are experienced professionals in their fields. Every class is designed for students to dive deep into the subject of their choice, work on pieces toward a college portfolio, and practice self-reflection in the form of critique while earning college credit. Through academic excellence that combines theory and practice, discover what makes Pratt Institute one of the top ten art and design schools in the United States.
