Superb from Switzerland, who have been the only team on the pitch for a lot of the first-half. The finish from Aebischer, 20 yards from goal and using the defender in front of him as a screen to flummox the keeper, was superb, but the build-up was terrific too.
They have an extremely experienced core in their back three and midfield two – Freuler and Xhaka in the middle especially – with the less experienced but exciting forwards and wing-backs causing all sorts of problems.
There was a concern before the tournament that they didn’t have much of a tactical identity, with Murat Yakin switching to a back three quite late on having been a staunch back four man previously, but there’s been no evidence of that so far.
