4 New Innovations in Greenhouse Structure Technology

Expanding your production with the addition of new greenhouse facilities requires a lot of advanced planning and research. The good news is that greenhouse suppliers are responding to this with new innovations. We reached out to a few companies and asked about their latest offerings.

Rovero Roll-Air Greenhouse (Atlas Greenhouse)

Atlas Greenhouse has announced a partnership with Rovero in the Netherlands to provide the Roll-Air commercial structure that provides protection from the elements, while at the same time creating an environment as close to outside conditions as possible. With its unique open-roof design, the Rovero Roll-Air Greenhouse is ideal for ornamental, nursery, fruit, and vegetable growers. The Roll-Air roof will completely open or close in approximately one minute, allowing for maximum exposure to the elements when needed and the ability to close quickly when adverse weather conditions occur.

Dual Atrium (Prospiant)

Growers can use the Dual Atrium to create a near-outdoor environment for crop conditioning and steering. With an innovative roof vent that opens upward and outward to a vertical 85° angle, the Dual Atrium offers optimal air mixing and temperature control. It is ideal for high productivity in multi-tier setups or as a year-round passive retail range in more temperate climates. For a side ventilation option, the EDDG vent is a drop-down exterior guillotine vent incremented to the desired dimension. Growers can cover the EDDG Vent with glass, or single or double-wall polycarbonate.

Annuals That Work, But Are So Hard to Find

Pro-Line AeroMax (Stuppy)

The Pro-Line AeroMax gives growers all the advantages of open-roof technology without sacrificing the flexibility of a true greenhouse. Known for quality volume production, as well as display and retail, this structure provides natural lighting and ventilation options. Stuppy has incorporated condensation control into the vent frame extrusions, allowing for double polyethylene, corrugated polycarbonate, acrylic, and 8mm polycarbonate roof options. Direct-drive and indirect-drive roof operation is available. The AeroMax is a dynamic growing space where growers can naturally ventilate crops, harden off nursery/bedding plants, grow hemp where cross-pollination is not an issue, or create a unique and attractive institutional or retail environment.

Double Stack Ridge Vents (Conley’s Greenhouse Manufacturing)

Conley’s has introduced the newest evolution in naturally ventilated greenhouses: the Double Stack Ridge Vent Assembly. Conley’s Double Stack Ridge Vent incorporates proven vent technology to increase natural drafting, via an 18-foot opening, while ensuring maximum reliability and resistance against the elements. Conley’s Double Stack Ridge Vent has been developed for its full line of Gable Series Greenhouse and can be glazed with corrugated polycarbonate, corrugated steel, or twin wall polycarbonates.
